Our care does not end at the funeral. We are here to help you honour, remember and celebrate your loved one's life in the weeks, months and years that follow.
After the funeral, life is expected to return to normal. But for most families, that is when the reality of loss truly sets in. The calls stop, the visitors go home and you are left navigating a new and unfamiliar world.
At Victoria Cross Funerals, we believe our role extends well beyond the day of the service. Your Funeral Support Manager remains available to help with practical matters, emotional support and planning meaningful ways to keep your loved one's memory alive.
Whether it is organising a memorial gathering on an anniversary, coordinating a headstone, scattering ashes at a special location or simply having someone to talk to who understands, we are here.
Grief does not follow a schedule. The weeks and months after a funeral can be filled with unexpected challenges, both emotional and practical. Having someone who already knows your family and your situation makes all the difference.
A gathering on the anniversary of your loved one's passing, their birthday or another significant date. We help with venue, readings, music and coordination.
Plant a tree or create a small garden in your loved one's honour. Some families scatter ashes at the base, creating a living, growing tribute.
Establish a memorial donation fund or organise a community event in your loved one's name. We can help you set this up and spread the word.
Compile photos, stories and messages from family and friends into a lasting keepsake. We can help coordinate contributions and create a beautiful final product.
General guidance and support from your Funeral Support Manager is provided at no additional cost. Specific services such as organising a memorial event, ordering headstones or creating memorial keepsakes may involve additional fees, which we will always discuss with you upfront.
There is no time limit. Whether it has been a week, a year or five years since the funeral, you are always welcome to contact us. Our relationship with your family does not have an expiry date.
Yes. You do not need to have used our services for the original funeral. If you would like help planning a memorial gathering, ash scattering ceremony or any post funeral event, we are happy to assist.
We work with trusted monumental masons who can guide you through the process of selecting a design, material and inscription. Headstones are typically installed 6 to 12 months after burial.
In NSW, ashes can be scattered on private land with the owner's permission, at sea, or in designated memorial gardens. Some national parks and public spaces may require a permit. We can advise on the regulations and help you plan a meaningful ceremony at the location of your choice.
While we are not counsellors ourselves, we maintain a network of trusted grief support professionals and organisations. We can connect you with the right person or group based on your family's needs, whether that is one-on-one counselling, group support or specialised services for children.
Call us any time. Whether the funeral was yesterday or years ago, we are here for you.
We work 24/7, so we'll endeavour to call you back in under an hour.
We've received your request and will call you back shortly.
