Direct cremation services Sydney
Simple and Dignified

A respectful farewell without the formality of a traditional service

A direct cremation is the simplest form of cremation. There is no funeral service, no chapel booking and no large gathering. Your loved one is collected, cared for with dignity, and cremated. The ashes are then returned to your family.

Many families choose a direct cremation because it is affordable, uncomplicated and allows them to hold a private memorial or celebration of life in their own time and on their own terms. It does not mean less care. It simply means fewer formalities.

Your dedicated Funeral Support Manager still handles everything personally, from collection of your loved one, to paperwork, to the return of ashes. You are never left without support.

Why Families Choose This Option

Direct cremation may be right for you if

Budget is a concern

Direct cremation is the most affordable cremation option. There are no chapel fees, no hearse hire and no formal service costs. You get dignity and care without the financial pressure.

You prefer simplicity

Some families find comfort in a straightforward process without the formality of a traditional service. A direct cremation removes the complexity while preserving the care.

You want to memorialise later

Many families choose a direct cremation first, then hold a celebration of life, memorial gathering or ash scattering ceremony weeks or months later when the time feels right.

Common Questions

Direct Cremation FAQs

How much does a direct cremation cost in Sydney?

Direct cremation is the most affordable cremation option available. The exact cost depends on the crematorium and any optional additions you choose. We provide a clear, itemised quote upfront with no hidden fees. Contact us for a personalised estimate.

Can we still hold a memorial service later?

Absolutely. Many families who choose a direct cremation hold a celebration of life, memorial gathering or ash scattering ceremony at a later date. There is no time limit. We can help you plan a memorial whenever you are ready.

How quickly does a direct cremation take place?

Once all paperwork and permits are in order, the cremation typically takes place within 3 to 5 business days. The timeline depends on documentation processing and crematorium availability. We keep you informed at every stage.

Is a direct cremation disrespectful?

Not at all. A direct cremation is simply a different way of farewelling a loved one. Your loved one receives the same level of professional care, dignity and respect as any other person in our care. The only difference is the absence of a formal service.

Can we view our loved one before a direct cremation?

Yes. A private viewing can be arranged as an additional option. This gives your family the chance to spend time with your loved one and say a personal goodbye before the cremation takes place.
