Very sad news, lucky enough to call Sam a friend. He always gave myself and many others his time and resources to help keep us racing our boats. Sam’s larger then live attitude got a lot of guys off the river bank and on the water boat racing. When the club struggled getting boats on the water Sam got it done.
Sam opened his home and always enjoyed the Lamb bbqs.

Life is a matter of choice isn’t it. We all live busy lives. I wish to say that Sam was always there for me, however I struggled to be there for him.
I really regret the 3/4 months before Sam’s passing when he called me & we spoke & he suggested I come & see him, he didn’t explain why when I congratulated him for his retirement of which he suggested it was more than that but a medical problem. He wouldn’t say what is was.
I was going through problems mentally at this time but did not realise the importance it was to see him. I regret it now & always Sam enters my thoughts, this will stay for the rest of my life as he was a caring, compassionate man & always considered others.
If I could have this time again & the option was to win lotto or see Sam, on my parents graves I would choose Sam, I didn’t know how much I admired & loved this bloke until his passing.
I miss you Sam, I love you and I am sorry I did not stick to the deal. RIP Mate😢😢
